Fernando Fernandez Leon and family - Ruaha NP, Selous GR, Zanzibar
Spice was exceptional. Pemba very personal and friendly. Safari was perfect. Nice and knowledgeable guide, marvellous lodges, and the animals were our friends. We could take some exceptional pictures. Lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, ...... everybody was around, and paid us a visit just beside our car. “
Yaron Bloch and friends - Pemba and Mafia islands
Hello Christopher, I’m just back from our trip to Tanzania. Everything went perfect. It was an excellent holiday. Congratulations on your good work, and thanks for it. Hope to have the chance to travel with you in the future, receive my kind regards,
Idelette and Michael van den Heerik - Zanzibar
It was great! We really enjoyed it, and everything worked out as planned. The team at Pemba, and the place itself was excellent. We really enjoyed the diving, the atmosphere and everything about Pemba. Mafia was also excellent, diving was great, although visibility wasn't so good here. Accommodations were really good.
Idelette says: We had an absolutely awesome time. Thank you for arranging it all for us. The hotel was exactly what we wanted. As for the diving...wow. Scuba Do really delivered a good service, and Tammy and the divemasters accompanying us were super. We have done quite a few dives all over the world, but saw so much marine life not encountered before. The diversity was absolutely amazing, with the trip to Mnemba island for sure the highlight! We spent the last day in Stone Town (beautiful), and also loved our stay at the Dhow Palace Hotel. All in all, a fantastic break away. Thank you so much again!
Michael says: Same from my side Christopher but I would highlight your awesome organization and planning! Thank you very much for your service! It made our holiday that you exactly understood our request! Absolutely fantastic!
Claire and John Ellis - Pemba island
Claire says: Hi Christopher, thanks for your email. I came home feeling relaxed refreshed and revitalized, ready to take on the new year, so I feel we had a “real” holiday. All the diving was outstanding with unbelievably excellent visibility. Two dives in particular were very special for me –one was exhilarating flying through the current at Amelio’s back passage and the other was another dive site at Fundu Gap (I think it was Manta Point) where the coral and the fish were superb. The service from all the staff was attentive and caring. Craig and Sam were very professional and excellent dive leaders, as well as being fun, interesting and good company. Elaf created some delicious fish dishes, all meals were so beautifully presented. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Thanks so much for doing our booking – all transfers etc went very smoothly.
John says: The diving was brilliant and we enjoyed it. The resort had a few logistical problems like running out of beer one evening, but it was made up for by the great staff. Both dive instructors were particularly good.
Lucy and Ross Paterson and their three children - Mikumi safari and Zanibar beach holiday
Having a fantastic holiday! Great wildlife in Mikumi and the camp suited us perfectly. Thanks for advice on Zanzibar too, the place is ideal for kids. It will be hard to go back to Scotland tomorrow, this has brought back many happy memories of time spent living in Africa. Lucy
Marc Huysmans and Julie Robinson - travelled to Botswana on a photographic safari led by Christopher
Coming out of our life in our luxury UAE bubble to 1 vehicle for 2 weeks with 3 nationalities and 5 people/personalities, making this a rewarding exploration of Botswana could have been a challenge in itself.
Catering for individual needs in a group is a challenge that Christopher masters whilst at the same time multitasking as a patient driver, amazing chef & experienced field guide with us the guests helping pitch tents, prepping veg & doing the dishes.
Being in the lush green Okavango Delta with amazing campfire dinners to break the ice set the expectations for the game drives and camping in Moremi, Savuti, Chobe, Vic Falls and Nxai Pan,
We may not have scored all the big five this time but definitely the photos of other animals and birds taken on a variety of cameras & I phones made up for it big time!
A successful journey and appetizer for future Indigo Safari adventures. Great memories guaranteed.

Colleen Jenkins, Australia (travelled to Tanzania and Pemba Island)
Thanks for helping my mum and I to organise our trip to Tanzania in mid-March. We had an amazing week there before heading to South Africa for family duties :)
* We were the only 2 passengers into Ruaha and arrived ahead of schedule after a very smooth, easy flight. And essentially we were the only people staying at the River Lodge, so we were treated very well and had our own driver and guide the whole time. I truly enjoyed our stay in Ruaha - it is a beautiful park, particularly after the rain. We had some great lion sightings and even watched them with a kill.
* Onto Pemba and again the flight was on time, easy flight, etc. The taxi ride to Kervan Saray is long and hot, but interesting to watch the scenery go by and our driver was friendly and bought us bananas on the way! We were met by Cisca with a very-appreciated cold drink and made to feel very welcome. Mum and I snorkelled one day and I kayaked in the mangroves another day. Otherwise we enjoyed watching the view horizontally (that is lying on the couches watching the water). We met some fascinating people from all areas of the globe. It feels like one big happy family at KS, a very relaxed welcoming approach.
So we had a fantastic time. Flights ran on time, the weather was good, and we were very well looked after at both our destinations.

"See why I like working with a pro? I can sit back and let you do the tough legwork of ironing out all these details. Adventure travel is all well and good, but I'd just as soon hold off on the adventure until AFTER my arrival, avoiding any obstacle courses in advance. ;)
And I really do appreciate your close oversight of the whole thing, Christopher: your insistence upon on-the-ground experience with the operators and their tours, your savvy when it comes to navigating the difficulties of a still-maturing tourism infrastructure, and your attention to my unique wishes as a client. Your services are indispensable."
Alan Moore, Switzerland (on safari in Tanzania and diving on Pemba)
"We had an absolutely fantastic time. The whole itinerary ran smoothly. We did not have to wait for pick-ups, there were no misunderstandings, everyone who was part of this tour turned up as promised and planned and on time - indeed more helpers were added where needed. There were no issues in making minor changes to the programme, or taking a little longer at one place and speeding up elsewhere.
We had full confidence in Rama, our driver, and in Buga, our cook and trekking guide. These two were friendly and helpful without limit. It was real fun being with them. Buga did a great job cooking for us on the trek, acting as our interpreter, and explaining the local way of life. The short walks on the Highlands trek were quite tough - across the sand in the heat avoiding dust-devils and dead cattle on the way - but so satisfying. The walk from Empakai to Acacia camp, and the next day from there to the defined pick-up point by Natron/Lengai (and then walking further to the camp) were astounding - words fail me. What an amazing area this is!!
On Pemba the diving was great, with very nice staff and probably the best food of the holiday. We did two nice walks through many smiling people and their homes and fields from the northern end and the western beach of the peninsular. This was very well organized - Well done!! Missing it tremendously."

"Christopher is an excellent, trustworthy field guide. His extensive knowledge about animals, plants, geography, and local history of areas, imparted with great enthusiasm, humour and his love for nature will make your safari complete and into a very valuable experience you’ll never forget."
Caroline Lechevalier, France (on safari in Tanzania)
"Christopher always had something for us to discover. If the big stuff wasn’t around then he’d give us the low-down on other mammals around. If there were no mammals, they’d be some birds to spot, or some local medicinal uses of plants to discover, or some field signs to decypher. I’d never thought about a termite’s life before, and certainly didn’t know how to read its tracks!"
Andrew German, United Kingdom (on safari in Tanzania and diving on Pemba)
"When looking for the perfect shot, Christopher’s patience is endless and his tips are very useful - I came back with the best photos I have ever taken.
The wall diving off Pemba is out of this world - like corals on acid, and I saw my first ever hammerhead"
Emilie Ratureau, France (visiting South Africa)
"Excellent briefings before the dive, superb skills under water, and great fun after a dive. Christopher made us feel as safe as we could possibly feel, given that we had six Tiger sharks and at least 30 Blacktip sharks around us."
Fabrice Charrier, France (visiting South Africa)
"I’ve never seen so many big fish in my life - sharks, a wide range of rays, groupers, and turtles. A great experience with an environmentally conscious dive guide. Christopher’s passion for the ocean must have rubbed off on me; my bookshelf is filling up with marine books and I can’t wait to get back in warm Indian Ocean waters again."
Karen Kwaalwyk, Australia (visiting South Africa and Mozambique)
Thanks for all your help in arranging our holiday. Your advice was invaluable and I feel you went above and beyond 'the call of duty'. I will certainly pass on your details if I know of anyone planning a trip to Africa.
For some other feedback. Thw diving in South Africa was great (although I think I could sort out the office). It was great diving with people so passionate about what they do. Carl, Juan, Cliff, Chucky and Tyler (DM on the sardine run) made it a highlight of our trip. Kerry also really liked their lollipops. I would certainly book with them again without a doubt. All very laid back which was nice.
Thanks for the recommendation for the walking safari. Added a different dimension to the trip. Got up close to a rhino and were lucky to have 2 encounters with wild dogs. Car hire was easy and the way to go. Thanks for recommending Berea.
