BAZARUTO ARCHIPELAGO
There are five main islands making up the Bazaruto Archipelago, Bazaruto Island is the largest of these. South of Bazaruto Island lies Benguerra Island (or Santa Antóniao), the second largest of the islands. Further south still are the islands of Magaruque (Santa Isabel) and the tiny Bangué Island, neither of which currently have any accommodation options, but day trips to Magaruque can be arranged. You may also hear about Pansy Island or Pansy Shell Island, which are popular for snorkelling. Those however are actually moving sandbars, which regularly disappear and reappear at a slightly new locations! For more information about the diving and snorkelling in the Bazaruto Archipelago, please have a look at our 'Bazaruto Diving' page.
