Dining: In resort there is the Bimini Big Game Bar & Grill, open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Perched on the 2nd floor overlooking the resort’s marina and bonefish flats of Alice Town, guests can choose from indoor dining or open air dining on the deck. Enjoy a cocktail on the deck overlooking the marina, or shift your seat to keep a keen eye on the pool patio action – regardless, the BGBG is in the center of it all, or grab a stool at the bar, and catch the game on the new big screen TV.
Enjoy innovative cuisine and the best in friendly Alice Town service. Try the BGBG Fish Sandwich, conch, fresh fish, steaks, pasta, or maybe that Cheeseburger in Paradise? They don’t claim this is where Jimmy Buffet got his cheeseburger inspiration, but the Big Game Burger will satisfy the most demanding Parrothead!
Shops: Alice Town also has a local bakery and a few small food stores. We recommend the small bakery for affordable fresh take-aways at lunchtime and their delicious guava-stuffed sweet bread (like a cinnamon-roll or French pastry) and famous Bimini-Bread. There are several shops selling clothes and souvenirs.
Exploring: Bimini is a long island and you can find plenty of walks – to the Shark Mound in North Bimini for example, or on take the ferry to South Bimini, The ferry (small water taxi) leaves regularly from Alice Town and costs $2 one way, to go to the nature reserve or keep straight on past mangroves to the Sharklab and an area of immaculate colourful wooden homes.
Beaches/ swimming: Check out Radio Beach – which is beautiful and close by.
Flights/ Transfers/ Transport:
Flights arrive from Nassau into the small island airport where a taxi will meet you for your transfer to the ferry (10 minutes). Be aware of luggage allowances which are variable (check with us before you pack) but we suggest you stick to 50lbs per person for hold-luggage and one piece of hand luggage per traveller (babies are not given additional luggage allowance).

Family Friendly Suggestions (Some tips from our experience with a 6-month-old):
Travel cots/ cribs: travel cots are available but please ask us to reserve them for you when booking especially if you are arriving on afternoon or evening flights and bring your own personal cot-sheets and preferred bedding.
Mosquitoes/ Midges: pack a baby-buggy mosquito net for after dark and bring your own preferred baby-child safe insect repellent and after-bite cream. There is no malaria but the bites can be very itchy and annoying. Bring a good baby/child first aid kit.
Nappies/ baby-foods etc: non-eco friendly nappy wipes, toiletries (sun-creams, baby shampoos, baby-lotions, cotton-wool) and nappies in all sizes (Pampers and Huggies) can be purchased in town as can a selection of baby-formula, bottles, teats and a limited range of certain baby foods and fresh fruits and vegetables. However if you have any medical must-haves or certain preferences we advise you to bring as much of your preferred brands as possible if you are unsure/ and to cut down on local shopping time as you may have to visit all the stores to find what you need or the right size/ food/ item may not be available.
